Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh Band

Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh is a multi-award-winning traditional singer and musician from theGaeltacht of Corca Dhuibhne, West Kerry. A leading exponent of the sean nós style, she is celebrated for the warmth, clarity, and expressive power of her voice, and for her ability to communicate the depth of Ireland’s song tradition to audiences worldwide. Immersed from childhood in a vibrant cultural landscape of music,song, and dance, she has developed a vocal and instrumental sound that is both distinctive and deeply rooted.

For this special concert, Muireann is joined by a star-studded ensemble of some of Ireland’s most accomplished traditional musicians and composers:

Michael Rooney – One of Ireland’s leading harpers and composers, Monaghan-born MichaelRooney is acclaimed for his large-scale suites for harp and traditional ensemble, and is the recipient of multiple TG4 Gradam Ceoil awards.

Dónal O’Connor – Leading fiddle player and producer from the Oriel region, acclaimed for his extensive production credits and collaborations across Irish and Scottish traditions. Dónal isthe founder and artistic director of Belfast TradFest.

Becky Ní Éallaithe – A gifted young sean nós dancer and concertina player from Connemara, representing the new generation of tradition bearers carrying forward Ireland’s living song and dance heritage.

Mick O’Brien – Legendary Dublin uilleann piper and internationally acclaimed soloist, renowned for his collaborations with Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh and for his seminal recordings of the piping tradition.

Neil Martin – Renowned Belfast cellist, composer, and arranger, whose work spans traditional and classical music, with major commissions for orchestras, theatre, and film.

Alongside her acclaimed solo career, she has performed and recorded extensively with Danú, and collaborated with leading artists across classical, folk, and world genres.

Her groundbreaking project Róisín ReImagined, produced by Dónal O’Connor and performed with the Irish Chamber Orchestra, has been hailed for its bold reimagining of the sean nós tradition, earning widespread five-star reviews and cementing her reputation as an artist of rare versatility.

Beyond the stage, Muireann is also a respected television and radio presenter, with over 15 years’ experience across Irish and Scottish broadcasting.
